At Home In Morocco Coloring Book

July 21, 2019

When setting out on a journey, do not seek advice from someone who never left home.

We all have our own path, and we all must walk it alone. However, we need to surround ourselves with those who fan our flames, those who can make us shine brighter. I’ve made a mistake in the past hanging out with people that sapped my energy and they were only cheering me up to satisfy their own insecurity.

I set out on a journey to write recipes for a cookbook after hearing many compliments about my dishes and people wanting more than just a post on Instagram. How hard is it to write recipes?! I mean one doesn’t need to be a writer, right?! Well, let me tell you, it is not that easy. I am a cook, not a chef. I started cooking to feed my family and to satisfy my vegetarian and on and off vegan self. I began hosting dinners at my house because the demand was high in Marrakech and Fes for something homey, different and vegetarian at the same time.

I am not a writer!!! I have a short attention span, especially when sitting down in front of a screen. I can’t sit for too long, my back hurts. My writing makes no sense because I have at least two scenarios in my head in two different languages. One scene I'm sounding positive and realistic, another sounding totally like the real me, depressed and angry.

I am not an artist either!!! I have a great fascination for the art of Islamic Geometry Patterns, for the Zellige that surrounds my living space, and for the harmonies merge of patterns and colors. I can design rooms and mix colors on walls and furniture. I can draw lines….I can connect lines to make different shapes and characters. I’ve painted a few abstract personal pieces just because I love playing with colors.

I thought I could create a coloring book, so others could benefit from my experience with coloring. I noticed how calmer I was when I was coloring and how focused I was while trying to stay within the line. I ran the idea through a few of my flame fanning heroes, and they were all excited about it.

Without any further due, here is the link to my fun, therapeutically, and inspirational coloring book.

You don’t have to be a kid to color in a coloring book. There is no right or wrong in creating your masterpiece, so color it as you wish, you are the artist after all! And that’s how I convinced myself to finally push the publish button on my birthday aboard a small boat I rented in northern Portugal.

Here is to another year living and doing my best

AT Home In Morocco.

I love you all ^.^
