My story with Morocco
I am Sahar a citizen of the world- you might say- who’s in love with Morocco and everything Moroccan. I lived most of my adult life in California after my family immigrated from Lebanon. My background in Interior Design and my lifelong commitment to a vegetarian diet influenced me to create At Home In Morocco.
I feel there is no better way to explore a culture than through its food. The lack of vegetarian dishes offered to most tourists when visiting Morocco led me to create At Home In Morocco.
Throughout my years in Marrakech and my volunteer work there, I learned that Moroccan cuisine is rich in dishes that are tasty and meatless. I am on a mission to introduce plant-based Moroccan cuisine, paired with the right mix of spices to develop timeless recipes that we all can create in our kitchens no matter where we are in the world.
I host culinary events in my restored 100+-year-old house/Dar in Fez and welcome travelers in search of an authentic home-cooked meal.
